Historically, the backup process of the BPMC metabase has been an arduous manual process. However there is a new feature in the Config Builder 2.2.1 or higher (available in 124 pack) that allows for a snap shot backup to be created easily from the config builder.
In the menu options of the config builder, this is located in:
Tools -> BPMC MeteBase backup.
When this option is clicked, a SQL .BAK file is generated on the BPMC database server. The location of the .BAK file location is determined by the "BackupLocation" key located in the BPMC Global configurations.
See diagram for example:
Important Note: In an effort to keep .BAK file small in size, all "ETL_" tables are purged from the BPM Connect Database. This needs to be considered when using this feature.
