Error on Membersheet Generator on SQL 2008 R2/SQL 2012 SISS 64bit

The member sheet generator will fail with the following error in the application event viewer:

• Log Name: Application
• Source: SQLISPackage100
• Event Name: OnError
• Message: The script returned a failure result.
• Source Name: MemberSheet Interop

This happens when running the following stack:

• Windows 2008
• SQL Server 2008 R2
• SQL Server 2012
• SSIS Etl Engine

The process will tend to succeed when running via DTEXEC command line and/or in BIDS

This is due to an obscure problem with the Excel interop and how it interacts with SQL server agent. The solution is the following is to make the following folders

Windows 2008 Server x64
Please make these folders:

• C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop
• C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop

Windows 2008 Server x86
Please make this folder:

• C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop
