SQL Server 2008 Support for BPM Connect

Scheduled support for SQL Server 2008 is tentatively the end of August (8/31/2009). In the current model, we are currently supporting SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005. Once we make the switch to 2008, 2000 will no longer be supported.

  1. Scott,

    Few Questions.

Q1 - Why drop support for sql 2000?
Q2 - Will you have any new capablities added in the 2008 process which is not compatable with older versions?
Q3 - Will the layout staty the same?

  2. Q1 Answer - To support SQL Server 2000, this limits us from taking advantage of some of the newer technologies that SQL Server has to offer. Most of the customer base is moving away from SQL server 2000. Can you see reason to support it?
Q2 Answer - Yes. Once the base conversion is complete and the transition is stabilized, SSIS will allow more enhance BPMC capabilities. For customers to take advantage of these capabilities, they will need to run the SSIS engine. This is due to limitations of DTS.
Q3 Answer - Layout will stay the same, end-users of BPM Connect will not know the difference, and their current processes will remain the same.
